Foundation
Amarcord was founded in 1940 in Northen Italy as a family firm producing leather goods.
After World War II, the younger members of the family started extending their scope and skills to become “Maestri Pellettieri” (Master leather craftsman).
They produced travel and office goods, handbags, belts and other kinds of high quality handmade leather goods.
About 20 years ago, as a result of a fortuitous meeting between one family member and a friend, who was also keen on leather manufacturing, the present day AMARCORD Company was established.
Inspiration
They planned to produce modern goods using traditional techniques and materials.
Antique volumes in the most famous Museums in Italy inspired them.
AMARCORD created a range of notebooks, diaries, address-books, guest books and so one, all entirely handmade using traditional materials such as leather and wonderful handmade marbled papers.
AMARCORD continues along this path creating contemporary items with a “touch” of Italian old style.
